Is there a tougher time of the school year than returning from the holiday break? For us, the month of January was incredibly slow. Students and teachers alike were, what we call, "slogging" through the days. Amber and I had a busy, but wonderful break with a trip home to see the family and also a quick slip into Canada for our birthdays and anniversary! So now that we've returned to the classroom, to the routine, we catch ourselves looking back at December. But that doesn't mean we haven't busy and looking forward to this year!
Last month, I began working to become a National Geographic Certified Educator! I'm 1/3 of the way through, but it's helped to refine a lot of my instructional practices and re-wire my teaching methodology to continually reach across the curriculum in designing activities and projects for my students.
Plus, we're still focused on this summer! We have one, maybe two, week long PDs all set for Guatemala and, of course, it wouldn't be summer without a beach trip and professional development to Aruba. If you're looking for a different kind of PD experience this summer to call your own, we'd love to have you! Reach out to us with your questions. Let's have an adventure!
