A new chapter begins
7/9/2016
Greetings all! I hope the summer break is treating you well and you're enjoying your free time....but also thinking about the next academic year. As teachers I guess we can never really forget about our classrooms. I trust you're also attending some quality workshops, conferences, or any other PD opportunities.
The biggest news from my end is the fact that my wife and I have returned to the States! I have accepted a position at a high school in my home state of Kentucky! I will be teaching World and US History and couldn't be more excited. Yeah, my wife and I loved our time abroad, but the pull of home kept at us and we're happy to be among family and old friends once again. BUT...rest assured, we'll be taking off regularly to various parts of our crazy world. That won't change. So now we're deep into the 'settling in' process of getting setup with a place to stay, cars, phones, furniture, insurance, internet, etc. etc. We forgot how expensive the US is, but after being gone for so long, we're doing things much differently than before we left in 2010. Next week, I jump into the classroom and prepare for the upcoming academic year. Here's a couple shots from my new classroom. Looks like I got a lot of work to do. Onward and upward!!! |
